Teen faces charges after alleged shoplifting in Tupelo

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A teenager is facing charges after allegedly not paying for an item from a Tupelo business.

18-year-old Mason Clemons has been charged with one count of felony shoplifting.

According to Tupelo Police, on April 18 officers were dispatched to Best Buy on North Gloster street.

Store personnel told police that two people came into the business.

That’s when one of the individuals left the store.

A short time later, the other suspect that was remaining inside the store took and item valued over $2,400.

Clemons was identified as the suspect.

He was given a $5,000.

This case will be presented at the next Lee County Grand Jury.
