Thousands given in grants to non-profits from 4 County Foundation
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – 4-County Electric Power Association members learned more about the cooperative Thursday.
Thursday, nearly 600 people heard about the utility’s achievements over the past year.
Thousands of dollars in grants have been given to non-profits from the 4 County Foundation.
“So in the almost 3 years that we’ve had it we’ve given away about $600,000 in grants back to the community… the organizations that it helps and that’s first responders, that’s schools, that’s other groups that really help enrich the communities that we all live in and work in,” said Jon Turner.
Those organizations were also there to talk about how they’ve used the money.
The Starkville Robotics Team, Choctaw County Schools, the town of Crawford, and Noxubee County Human Resources set up booths.
The meeting was held at EMCC Mayhew.
3 people were also elected to the Board of Directors.
