Three New Cases Of West Nile In Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – The Mississippi State Department of Health reports three new cases of West Nile Virus.

This brings the current state total to 54, which is already higher than last year’s case total.

The state is still in the peak West Nile season, which is from July to September.

MSDH encourages people to remove standing bodies of water, wear loose, light-colored clothing, and apply plenty of bug repellent in place where mosquitoes are present.
