Timothy Herrington's trial date set for alleged murder of Jimmie 'Jay' Lee

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A trial date has been set for the man accused of killing Jimmie “Jay” Lee, who went missing in July 2022.

22-year-old Timothy Herrington’s trial date is set for October 2024, according to the Lafayette County District Attorney’s Office.

Herrington was indicted on a capital murder charge back in March. He is still out on bond.

Jay Lee has not been seen or heard from since July 8, 2022, when he left Campus Walk Apartments.

Herrington was initially arrested about two weeks after Lee was reported missing. Investigators say the two were communicating via Snapchat.

The case is expected to be a two-week trial period.
