Tishomingo County minister arrested for crime 45 years later

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Nearly 45 years after the abuse is said to have taken place, a  Tishomingo County minister now faces a felony charge of fondling.

Dural Ragsdale, 71, surrendered Monday after being accused of molesting a 10-year-old girl between1974 and 1975.

The alleged attack took place while Ragsdale served as the youth minister of Iuka United Methodist Church.

The Jackson Clarion Ledger newspaper reported Ragsdale said the contact happened just once because of “a curious child”.

The victim in the case, who now lives in West Virginia, has pushed for criminal charges for decades.
