Victim identified in Pickens County homicide, search for suspect continues

PICKENS COUNTY, Ala. (WCBI )- Pickens County investigators released the name of this past weekend’s homicide victim.

Sheriff David Abston said Diego Hernan, 34, was the man found lying in the road with a gunshot wound on County Road 2.

Hernan was living in the Carrollton area but worked in the poultry industry in Mississippi.

The victim’s vehicle was also found at a Walmart in Northport, Alabama.

Abston said Hernan’s employer reported him missing.

The sheriff has identified a vehicle of interest, a gold 2004 Chevy Suburban with Noxubee County plates NX2 466.
