VIDEO: Amory Santa Winter Wonderland

AMORY, Miss.(WCBI) – Amory children got to take a special trip today.

The Historic Old Armory was the site of this weekend’s Santa’s Winter Wonderland, which featured a trip down a trail leading to a mountain where they could visit Santa.

The children then got to take a special ride down a slide from Santa’s Mountain. Derrick Maranto says the Armory was the perfect venue for this family event.

“Last year it was outside and it was really cold and so we decided to have the event inside and this is the biggest place we’ve got that can do it and the old Armory here hosts a lot of our events and so it’s a great place. A lot of room,”said City Planner Derrick Maranto.

Maranto says the proceeds from this weekend’s event will go to pay for some much needed improvements at Celebration Station Park.
