VIDEO: Amory Toy Drive

AMORY, Miss.(WCBI)—Well it’s the season of giving and one local Amory Business is doing just that.

“This year we were able to help 462 children with toys for Christmas,”said Event Organizer Brandi Hargroue.

For Four years now Finders Keepers retail store has been spreading the Christmas cheer throughout The city of Amory.

“Me and my husband we take half of our sales we made from September all the way to Christmas and half of our sales we buy nothing but toys and during the rail road festival all the food and drinks that we sell at the rail road festival and we buy nothing but toys,” said Hargroue.

Brandi is the store owner she says this event is made possible by the community.

“We’ve got so many volunteers come out here to help us and we can’t thank everybody enough. We’ve had dugouts donated to us, Arleen Barnum, which is an angel gave the doughnuts supplied to us. We’ve got hot chocolate, coffee and all these local businesses donated gift certificates for these families,”said Hargroue.

Rockann Adams has been attending the toy drive since it began. she says what brings her back each year is to support someone who’s supporting the community.

“Brandi, she’s a gorges women that does this drive and she helps everyone and she needs all the support she can get and I would like for everyone to come out and support her. If not this year the next if the lord willing,”said Toy Drive Participant Rockann Adams.

Hargroue says she hopes the event will continue to grow and touch families throughout Monroe County.

” Such a blessing to see the smile on people’s faces. You know the good lord has blessed me and my family and you know it’s just one of my ways of giving back and to see a smile on some body’s face at Christmas,”  Hargroue
