Video: Amory’s Aubrey Gillentine Signs with Southern Miss Baseball

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — Amory’s top dog is going D1.

Aubrey Gillentine made it official on Wednesday as he signed his letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Southern Miss.

The Amory Panther hit .309 a season ago with 3 home runs and 19 RBI’s. He was a top-notch pitcher for head coach Chad Williams and the Panthers as he finished with a 5-3 record with a 1.34 ERA.

Gillentine becomes the first baseball player to sign with a D1 program since Will Cox in 2011.
