VIDEO: Concealed Carry Classes

WINSTON COUNTY, (WCBI) – Keeping the community safe is the goal of the Winston County Sheriff’s Department.

Saturday the community was invited to attend a concealed carry class.

Douglas Thomas with the United States Concealed Carry Association provided residents with safety, legal, and function information of the weapons.

Participants in Saturday’s class got hands on training with the deputies.

Thomas says the most important lesson they could give is one of awareness of pulling the trigger.

“It’s going to be a quick thing and then it’s going to be, we try and go threw the fact that once it happens it’s going to be traumatic, emotionally for them. It could be a financial burden for them. It’s going to be an emotional burden for them. We want to give them a full view of what can happen and what will happen if the have to use that weapon,”said Thomas.

The Winston County Sheriff’s office will host another class in the spring.
