STARKVILLE, MISS. (WCBI) — One of the most dynamic defenders in the state of Mississippi, Starkville Yellow Jacket linebacker Willie Gay will represent Starkville on the national stage.

Gay was presented his jersey for the U.S. Army All-American bowl played in the Alamobowl in San Antonio, Texas on January, 7th.

When asked what he’s looking forward to the most about the opportunity, Gay said, “just meeting the new players, being able to compete with the best competition in the country, and having fun.”

The Ole Miss commit is number 157 on ESPN’s Top 300 recruits, and is also the number five recruit in the state of Mississippi.

“Being selected in the top one hundred players in the nation is a great honor, I think Willie is very deserving”, Gay’s head coach Ricky Woods said.
