VIDEO: Fleeing Florida, Family Visits Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) A Florida Family fleeing Hurricane Irma spends the day soaking up some local culture.  This weekend is the 16th Annual Tennessee Williams Tribute Weekend.

Tour guides at the Tennessee Williams Home and Welcome Center in downtown Columbus say they’re noticing a small increase in this year’s crowd.

Among those touring the Tennessee Williams Home are the Papanous.  They’re from Tarpon Springs Florida.

Eleni Papanou says shes just trying to keep her kids calm by making the most of a depressing situation.  The Papanous hope to return to Tarpon Springs Florida on Wednesday.

Tarpon Springs is a city located on Central Florida’s Gulf Coast
