Video: Fundraiser recognized area first responders
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Area first responders got some much deserved recognition as well as a hot plate of food Thursday night. It was part of the Heritage Academy softball girls annual fundraiser, that honors our area first responders, for their tireless commitment to their communities and people living in them.
This year the fed over 250 first responders from the area, selling over 450 plates.
Organizers say this year was a huge success.
“They do so much for us everyday. They all put their lives on the line and this is a very, very small thank you. It’s the least we can do for them for what they do everyday,” said organizer Lynn Perry.
At last years fundraiser they had 160 first responders show up. They hope to see the event grow bigger each year.
