VIDEO: Getting Fans Pumped For MSU’s Upcoming Marquee Matchup
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- The Mississippi State Women’s basketball team has the entire campus and city of Starkville buzzing with all of its success this season.
Now, the MSU Athletic Department is building on that excitement by creating an escape room for fans centered around the team’s upcoming game.
The mystery is that the game film against the team’s upcoming opponent, South Carolina Gamecocks, has been stolen.
Participants have 30 minutes to recover the the stolen film and return it to the coaching staff before the big game.
“We booked 60 different groups to come in so we’ve had a lot of people coming through here getting to experience this,” said Rhett Hobart, MSU assistant athletic director for marketing and branding. “It’s something that really ties well into the game and gets this kind of added layer of excitement that’s something that’s very different from what you actually see anywhere being able to play a game that ties into the game they’re playing on Monday, so it’s kind of a cool way to get people excited around campus in a very grassroots way.”
The group that solves the mystery with the fastest time receives free tickets to Monday night’s game.
