VIDEO: GTR Looks Westward

Golden Triangle Regional Airport Director, Mike Hainsey, is looking to the West these days.

He says the airport is negotiating a western route to Dallas with American Airlines.

Hainsey says GTR has a two million dollar incentive plan to present the airline in late August.

He believes there are many benefits for American to take the deal.

“The biggest point we have here is tremendous industrial growth. The companies we have that are internationally based, a lot of which are going to the west, several are headquartered in Dallas themselves, with Airbus Helicopters, Paccar has a huge plant in Dennis, Texas. The west-bound service makes sense for our businesses we have here.”

A shortage of pilots has stalled negotiations..

Hainsey spoke to the West Point Rotary Club Thursday.
