VIDEO: Keep Starkville Beautiful

STARKVILLE, Miss.(WCBI)—Keep Starkville Beautiful was the goal as the city worked to become a part of a national organization.

Friday the city received an Official Certificate of Affiliation from Keep America Beautiful and unveiled the new logo for the Starkville branch.

National and state representatives, Starkville community members, and city leaders were in attendance.

Six months ago, the city formed a committee of MSU students, local businesses, garden clubs, and churches to work toward meeting all the requirements set forth by the national organization.

According to K.A.B. representative, Sue Smith Starkville is a model community that she plans to use as an example in the other communities she works with.

Starkville is the 620th city to join the Keep America Beautiful family.
