Video: Louisville Aldermen Meeting: Update On Retail Coach

LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The Louisville Mayor and Board of Aldermen approve the last $10,000 dollar payment to the area’s retail recruiting group.

The money to pay Retail Coach will come from the Community Economic Development Fund.

The city was slated to begin with Retail Coach back in spring of 2014, but some things were put on pause because of the tornado and recovery efforts.

The city is still under contract with the group, which extends until the end of November.

That’s when a decision will be made to either extend the contract, or to not use the group in the future.

“There’s very much potential to extend, but we’re going to allow Glenn Haab, who we’re excited to have on our team as our economic developer and director of the partnership; and he’ll evaluate where they are, what they have done for us thus far, and see if it’s something we want to continue, or if he just wants to retain what they have done for us, and use it in house,” says Mayor Will Hill.

Hill says they’ve been pleased with what Retail Coach has been able to do for them.

City leaders and the community economic development will meet with Retail Coach on October 10th, to see where they’re at and what the future might hold.
