VIDEO: Miracle League Field Ground Breaking

COLUMBUS, Miss(WCBI)—It’s officially. The Golden Triangle Miracle League is one step closer to becoming a reality.

Saturday morning residents from all over the Golden triangle gather to see, a more than a decade old, project get started.

The 500,000 project will be designed to accommodate residents with special needs.

The field will have special features like rubberized turf and it will be able to drain water within 15 minutes after rain.

Golden Triangle Outdoors Volunteer Debbie Taylor’s son Nick lived with special needs. She says she is happy to see the next step of the project come together.

“We had Nick loved baseball more than he loved anything and so we were just excited to get this field going it’s a way that he could live on and it’s a way to see the friends that he made that are still playing enjoy the field,”said Taylor.

Some of the key programs around the Golden Triangle that have been instrumental to this project are; The Ed Goodman Foundation, 4- County Foundation, VFW, The City of Columbus, The Lowndes County Board Of Supervisors, Lions Club International Foundation, and The exchange Club Of Columbus.
