Video: Murder Conviction Holds in State Supreme Court

JACKSON and STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – An Oktibbeha County man won’t be leaving state prison any time soon.

The Mississippi Supreme Court is affirming Archie Quinn’s Capital Murder conviction.

Quinn was appealing his case stating he received ineffective counsel, and the judge did not give the jury proper instructions.

Justices ruled that the judge did properly instruct the jury. They dismissed with out prejudice the ineffective counsel claim, meaning Quinn can raise that question in further appeals.

Quinn was convicted of Capital Murder in 2014 for the 2008 shotgun slaying of his former girlfriend Stacy Gray in Oktibbeha County. Terry Johnson was also wounded in that shooting.
