VIDEO: National Night Out On Crime Event Helps Strengthen Community Relations In Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- The Starkville Police Department is connecting the community and cops with its National Night Out On Crime event

There were fun games for kids to play and they even had the chance to do face paint with the officers.

Officers said they really enjoy and appreciate this event, because it gives them a chance to interact with residents and helps bring everyone together.

“We have to build trust with our citizens and our Police Department that’s one of our main focuses. When we can trust each other we can fight crime together, we can support one another and we can both make our town and city a better community,” said Lt. Henry Stewart.

The event was hosted by the Starkville Police Department and spearheaded by the SPD Community oriented policing unit.
