Brian Pearson, an Amory High School graduate, was officially approved by the school board on Wednesday as the school’s new boys basketball coach.

Brian, the son of long-time Hatley basketball coach Alan Pearson, played his college basketball at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee before joining Amory as an assistant.

For the last three years, Pearson has been the head coach at Tremont High School. He’s led the boys basketball team to a 59-41 overall record in his three seasons with the Eagles.

He tells WCBI he is eager for the opportunity to return home and is excited for the new challenge ahead.
