VIDEO: Pontotoc May Change Their Beer and Wine Selling Hours

PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) – Pontotoc is following suit with several other communities regarding the selling of beer and wine.

Businesses in Pontotoc may have the chance to extend the hours of when they sell beer.

The board of aldermen is taking into consideration an ordinance that would extend the hours of 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. to midnight.

The community sees what benefits this can offer.

“I think it would be great for the community. First off, it would be good for the businesses that sell beer and wine because it’s more revenue for the community. Also, for people that drink beer and wine, sometimes they work odd hours, and extending it would help them,” said resident, Skyla Dillard.

The public hearing for this ordinance will be at city hall tomorrow at six o’clock.
