VIDEO: Rebels Ready For Week One Challenge

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) — Monday Night Football in the NFL will have to wait one more week as the Ole Miss Rebels will be in the “Sunshine State” for an epic showdown against the Florida State Seminoles this upcoming Monday.

The showdown featuring the number four and number eleven ranked teams in the country come as a big test for both programs, especially playing in Orlando at a neutral site.

Head coach Hugh Freeze said this Seminoles could be the toughest team he’s faced in his time in Oxford.

“…I think they have a great team. They always do…”, said senior quarterback Chad Kelly, “…they’re well coached, they have great players, and they’re always at the top for a reason so we got to make sure we go out and execute and do what we do.”

Junior defensive end Marquis Haynes said one of the defenses’ top goals is to close up holes created by FSU to contain electric running back Dalvin Cook.

The Rebels are currently considered underdogs in the contest, and Ole Miss is 8-1 in their last nine regular season games considered as underdogs.
