VIDEO: Rebels Take Out Frustration On Georgia

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) —  The Ole Miss Rebels finally put four quarters together against a top team, dominating the Georgia Bulldogs 45-14.

The Rebels lead wire to wire, leading 31-0 into the first half.

Chad Kelly and the offense were extremely efficient, and the first team offense didn’t turn the ball over.

The run game was also a big factor for the Rebels, putting up close to 180 total yards on the ground.

“My gut [feeling] was, we had really good work in practices, but we were not emotional, there was no passion, and my gut told me all week that it was a good sign”, head coach Hugh Freeze said.

“They’re disappointed, they’re ticked and they’ll be ready to go. Traditionally, since we’ve been here, we’ve bounced back from disappointing losses pretty well.”

“We were mad. We shouldn’t be 1-2 right now, and we…kicked ourselves in the foot and the losses are on me for turning the ball over”, senior quarterback Chad Kelly said, “We just have to keep on looking forward, keep on working hard at practice, and it comes down to execution.”

“…I even said to the team that if somebody walked in the room and looked at us, how we act, how we’re running around, how we prepare, they would never guess that we were 1-2”, senior tight end Evan Engram said.

The Rebels will take on the Memphis Tigers this upcoming Saturday in Oxford.
