VIDEO: Wildfire Burns More Than 100 Acres
WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A massive wildfire broke out in Webster County Monday afternoon.
The fire covered more than 140 acres.
No injuries or structural damages came from the fire, but Webster County EMA Director Barry Rushing said it took nearly five hours to put it out the blaze.
Rushing said multiple crews including the Eupora Fire Department arrived to the scene around 1:30 Monday evening.
As of now, Rushing said the cause of the fire is still under investigation, however, he believes the dry conditions and the warm weather obviously contributed to the circumstances.
The Webster County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Forestry Commission are handling the investigation.
