Video: Wood Magic Science Fair Will Host 4,000 Participants

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Hundreds of fourth graders are stopping by Mississippi State this week for the Wood Magic Science Fair.

Students are learning learn about forestry, wildlife, and lumber.

They will visit twelve different stations to see how wood products shape our everyday lives.

This is the 21st year for the educational and promotional event that highlights these natural resources.

“We felt like the forest products industry probably didn’t do enough promotion to talk about the sustainability of the industry, and the environmental aspects that are good, related to production forestry, and the effects it has, the good effects, in wildlife, habitat, and things like that,” says Department Head of Sustainable Bioproducts, Dr. Rubin Shmulsky.

Students and teachers from all over the state will be participating in the fair.
