VIDEO: Yokohoma Plants 2,000 Trees
WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI)- Yokohoma’s tire manufacturing plant says it’s committed to West Point. Saturday they planted 2,000 trees in Clay County just off Hazelhurst Road as a sign of that commitment. A group of almost 200 took part in the tree planting. The group was composed of Yokohoma employees and their families, local community leaders, firemen, police officers, and other west point city employees. Sixteen different trees types were planted. All the trees planted are native to the area and were provided by the Mossy Oakes Native Nursery. The tree planting is a part of the companies forever forest program. It’s a program Yokohoma plant manager Jim William says shows they are not just committed to making tires and employing people but also giving back to the community and the environment.
