Volunteers needed for collecting & distribution of supplies
HAMILTON, Miss. (WCBI)- The Hamilton community is working together to help everyone impacted by the weekend twisters.
The community effort includes churches, businesses, and volunteers.
The Hamilton Community Center is the command center.
It’s where people need to go to register and sign up if they’re interested in helping.
Hamilton Baptist Church is the distribution and drop off center.
“We have opportunities for people to go out if they will register at the community center. Then, they will be put with a force to work and do those things. All the distribution of the goods, which are food stuff, cleaning supplies, and OSB- wood and nails and things like that, are being distributed out from here, at the church,” said Jason West with Hamilton Baptist Church.
West says the biggest need for the church is volunteers to help with collecting donations and distributing them to storm victims.
The Hamilton Tornado Relief has also been set up for monetary donations.
Money or checks can be sent to P.O. Box 336 Hamilton, MS 39746.
