Waller gears up for round two of primary fight
AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Republican gubernatorial candidate isn’t wasting any time getting ready for round two of a primary fight. He’s back on the campaign trail.
Fresh off of his second place showing in Tuesday’s primary, former State Supreme Court Justice Bill Waller Jr. was in Amory Thursday night launching his run-off campaign at a meeting of the Monroe County Republican Club.
Waller was making his case to potential voters and gathering support.
Some pundits noted that in the primary his opponent – Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves – didn’t seem to take Waller seriously.
We asked Waller what he thought about Reeves’ new approach.
“I certainly thought Bill Waller was a credible candidate and I think that right now Tate Reeves knows I am cause I’m in run off with him,” said Waller.
Run-offs are August 27.
