Ward 5 candidate holds meet & greet

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- A candidate vying for office in Starkville believes his current work experience and past political experience makes him the best choice.

Hamp Beatty is running in the May 30th special election for Ward 5 Alderman.

Thursday evening Beatty held a meet the candidate ice cream social at Moncrief park.

The former two term mayor of Newton, MS shared his positions on issues facing Starkville. Beatty moved to Starkville 14 years ago.

He’s currently employed by the Mississippi State University’s Extension Center as an Economic Development and Small Business Specialist.
