Winfield, AL Shooting Suspect

WINFIELD, Ala. (WCBI) – West Alabama law enforcement continue looking for a man accused of shooting at a police chief and is considered armed and dangerous.

Roman Chase Banks is wanted by the Winfield Police Department and investigators believe could be in Mississippi.

Chief Brett Burleson tells WCBI, officers received information Banks would be coming to the Walmart in Winfield on Saturday.

Officers spotted the stolen vehicle he was in and attempted to set up a perimeter in the parking lot.

Banks forced a man out of the stolen vehicle and drove off.

He eventually crashed into a wooded area and ran.

Burleson gave chase but not before Banks reportedly shot six times at the chief.

Before this incident, Banks told some friends he was going to try to go to Mississippi.

He most likely has no contacts in the Magnolia State. However, law enforcement are asking for your help.
