Winona Board of Aldermen votes to hire Jody Windham as new Police Chief

WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) – After a long process, the City of Winona has a new chief at the helm of the police department.

At their recent meeting, the Winona Board of Aldermen unanimously voted to hire Jody Windham as the new chief.

Windham has years of experience in law enforcement, and he currently works as a school resource officer for the Winona-Montgomery County School District.

He’s also served as a deputy for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.

Interim Chief Johnny Hargrove will remain on staff at the department in an advisory role until the end of the year.

Windham will succeed former police chief Roshawn Daniels.
