Winona City Wide Yard Sale

WINONA, Miss.(WCBI)—Winona residents looking for a good bargain didn’t have to go very far;

as wcbi’s victoria bailey shows us bargains could be found all around the city.

Winona’s annual city wide Rummage sale had Residents out all Saturday morning.

Gladis Turner a Yard Sale Participant says,”I just put a few items together and I’m really surprised on how it turned out. I think it being labor day weekend people

want to clean out the closets; give them something to do on a saturday morning.”

The annual Yard sale, sponsored by winona main street and the city of Winona, began 3 years ago and it’s simple to sign up.

Cheyenne McNear a Yard Sale Participant says,” All you have to do is call our news paper and you tell them the address and they put a star on a piece of paper

like a map of the city and they send it out in the news paper for anyone to come and it’s completely free to advertise.”

And although shoppers could be seen all over the city, it’s still your typical rummage sale.

McNear says,”Each location; whether you have it at a home, ah church, a local business, anywhere. Your raising money for your own benefit, or yourself or any reason.”

Though some feel a holiday weekend isn’t a good time Winona residents feel differently.

” It gives me a day of enjoyment, I can be relaxed and enjoy myself and meet a lot of old friends.”
