Woman accused of stealing identity, getting forged marriage license

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A Starkville woman was accused of stealing the identity of a central Mississippi woman, even getting a forged marriage license and social security card.

Amanda Knapp, 37, was charged with Identity Theft in Oktibbeha County.

She’s charged with the same crime in Warren County and burglary in the city of Columbus.

Oktibbeha County investigators said the victim received a call about a doctor’s appointment she never made.

That’s when she called the sheriff’s office and alerted deputies.

Knapp also had a drivers license in the victim’s name.

She could also face fraud charges.

Deputies were waiting on Knapp when she left a doctor’s office and arrested her.

Other agencies are interested in talking to her about other crimes.
