Woman who shot deer in 2018, now bags 2 in 1 shot at age 101

MORGANTOWN, Miss. (AP) – The 99-year-old hunter who bagged a deer in Mississippi last year is still at it and achieving personal goals.

The Clarion Ledger reports Bertha Vickers dropped two deer in one shot for the first time. It was her first successful hunt as a 101-year-old and a complete accident she was able to get two in one.

Vickers shot the deer a few days after her Jan. 9 birthday. About a year ago, she was wondering why people were making a big fuss about the one she harvested a couple of weeks before her 100th. The kill was a doe after all, not a prized buck.

Vickers says she got the two-in-one after missing four deer this season. She says she helped clean the animals and shared the meat with her family.
