CHOCTAW, Miss. (WCBI) -It was a full how tonight at the 4th annual Graduation Celebration for high schools in the Choctaw County District.

The celebration was to recognize the accomplishments of senior students from Ackerman High School, Weir High School and French Camp Academy. Valedictorians and salutatorian were also recognized. The event included refreshments, scholarship presentations, and graduation gifts and prizes.

“Each year we celebrate these students who completed their high school education and are graduating and going on to do bigger and better things. So we just do this would be a good way to let them know that we are concerned, let them know that we care, and let them know that we are proud of them,” said Dr. I. D. Thompson, President of the Choctaw County High School Alumni Association.

Giveaway prizes included gift cards and things the seniors would be able to use in their dorms for college.
