COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s become a quarterly tradition in the Friendly City.

Local pastors, leaders and the faithful gathered at noon at the Columbus YMCA to pray.

Families were the focus of Thursday’s (2-7) event.

There were prayers for fathers, single parents and, of course, a prayer to give thanks.

Participants also sang a series of uplifting songs.

The Christian Community in Prayer is an interdenominational group who believes that prayer is important to promote peace, harmony and spiritual growth.
