Clay County Woman Murder Trial Set

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — The murder trial of a West Point woman begins Tuesday morning, during the second week of the January Clay County Circuit Court term.

Tameshia Shelton, 36, has been charged with murder in association with the October 2009 death of West Point Local, David Young. Shelton’s previous trial dates were set back due to additional discoveries and her giving birth the day before one set trial date.

According to court documents, Shelton is requested by Young’s family to pay $3,000 in restitution for funeral expenses.
