4 Charged In Attack On NEMCC Officer
BOONEVILLE, Miss. (AP) – Four students at Northeast Mississippi Community College have been charged in an attack on a college police officer.
Booneville Police Chief Michael Ramey tells the Daily Corinthian (http://bit.ly/1bUEoul ) that the unidentified officer was attacked Friday morning at Yarber Hall dormitory. Ramey says the officer has been released from Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville.
Ramey says a 17-year-old juvenile has been charged with one count of assault on a police officer and has been turned over to the Prentiss County Youth Court.
He says four other students – 19-year-old Willis Tomaz Cork of Weir; 20-year-old Rico Quartez Kimble of Belden; 19-year-old Marquez Desean Holland of Shannon – have each been charged with assault on a police officer and hindering prosecution. Bond was set for each at $25,000.
