Accused Suspect Arrested in Deadly Tupelo Stabbing

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Tupelo police have arrested the accused suspect in the homicide at Motel 6 on McCullough Boulevard.

Officers arrested 59-year-old Billy Merle Copeland around 8 :30 a.m., Friday.

Police were called shortly before 8 p.m., Thursday, to the motel for a possible domestic dispute.

Officers arrived, and found a woman stabbed to death in a room.

Investigators interviewed possible witnesses, and called out K-9s to help track Copeland.
