BREAKING – Murder Charges Filed In Monroe County Death

ABERDEEN, Miss. ( WCBI) – A confession leads Monroe County investigators to the body of a missing man.

Stanley Joe Pace is charged in the stabbing death of 43 year old Ronnie Max Duke of Amory.

Investigators say an altercation between the two men occurred at a residence on Highway 6 off of Mize Road.   That’s when they say Pace attacked Duke with a sword and cutting him multiple times

Monroe County Sheriff’ Cecil Cantrell tells WCBI-TV that a conversation with Pace led them to Duke’s body.

Deputies have located Duke’s body off of Brown-Taylor Road near Hatley .

Duke was reported missing January 15th by family members, and a weekend of investigation led deputies to  Pace, who was at the time, a person of interest in Duke’s disappearance.
