Columbus Bridal Store Wins Statewide Honor

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A local business gets statewide recognition.

After just a few years of opening, Columbus’ own, The Bride and Groom was awarded Mississippi’s Best Bridal Store.
It’s a busy Saturday at The Bride and Groom.

Located in the heart of downtown Columbus, the store was recently named Mississippi’s Best Bridal Store.

Corie and Blaine Walters own The Bride and Groom, which opened three years ago. They say winning the award speaks volumes about the store.

“We were up against other stores that had been in business for 30,40,50 years. So, for us to be a new kid on the block in the bridal world, we were really proud to win that,” said Blaine Walters.

The award was given through Mississippi Magazine and all votes were placed by the public.

Every bridal store in the state was in the running for the award.

Corie and Blaine say it’s all because of their loyal customers that they took home the top honor.

“We put some on social media asking for our supporters to help us out but really most people did it on their own, took time out of their own schedule to vote for us. So that’s what mean a whole lot to us,” said Blaine.

“That’s what we’re so thankful for is our support system and our customers and our friends and family who continue to support to us,” said Corie.

The two say there are some things that sets their store apart from others.

“Our team members are fantastic. Everybody is really passionate about not just finding somebody the perfect dress but making sure the whole experience of being in our store in one to be remembered. I think what we place our emphasis on is maybe different than other stores. It’s about the experience, not just finding a beautiful dress because you can find a dress anywhere but it’s from the beginning to the end,” said Blaine.

As business continues to boom at the Bride and Groom, Corie and Blaine are looking forward to keep serving their customers and plan for a bright future.

“And we just thank everybody so much for continuing supporting us throughout these three years and we hope to continue to grow and do you proud,” said Corie.
This summer, Corie and Blaine expanded their business to Starkville.

The Belle and Beau is stocked with prom and pageant dresses, as well as Tuxedo’s.
