COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus Ward 4 Councilman Marty Turner was kicked out of the city council’s executive session on Tuesday night.

Turner was escorted out by Police Chief Oscar Lewis.

Mayor Robert Smith confirmed Turner was removed from the meeting.

Some city leaders say they could smell alcohol on Turner’s breath. He denies the claim.

Turner did speak out of turn several times during the city council meeting. Smith says Turner continued to be disruptive once they were in executive session, which is not open to the public.

Turner tells WCBI city leaders are ganging up on him because he speaks the truth.

He also denies claims that he has a drinking problem.
