COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) It’s more than just fun with food.

Columbus High School students took what they’ve learned this year and whipped up some tasty treats for some very special educators.

The Columbus Municipal School district hosted the “2014: A Year of Our Best.” Those who are retiring were honored for their dedication to education.

All the food served was prepared by Columbus teens. The students participate in the Culinary Arts Program at McKellar Technology Center. It introduces students to basic food preparation, sanitation, budget management and the incorporation of nutrition.

Special guests included friends, family members of staff members.
