COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus police make another arrest in the March 7th shooting that injured a man.

Jermaine Bernard Cotton, 23, of Columbus is charged with aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Investigators say the victim was shot in the leg in the area of 7th Avenue and 18th Street North.

The Mississippi Department of Corrections assisted in Cotton’s arrest.

CPD says he was denied bond because he was out on bond for another charge.

Arthur Davidson and Dontae Fisher were also arrested in connection with the same shooting.

They were both charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and aggravated assault.

Fisher was also charged in connection with a shooting the night of March 7th on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and 18th Avenue North.

Daryl Williams and Johnny Bonner are also charged in connection with the shooting on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

CPD says several vehicles and an occupied home were hit with gunfire.

Investigators believe the two shooting incidents are connected.
