LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The FBI arrests two people before boarding a flight at Golden Triangle Regional Airport.

Airport Director Mike Hainsey says no passenger or staff was ever in danger before the flight left for Atlanta about 6-30 Saturday morning.

Hainsey declined to release further details.

Attempts to reach an FBI spokesperson on Monday were unsuccessful.

The Clarionledger reports Muhammed Oda Dakhalla of Starkville and Jaelyn De’Shaun Young, of Vicksburg, were attempting to join ISIS.

They duo may have had a plan to get married in Turkey, and cross over into Syria.

The Jackson paper also reports the two were also former Mississippi State students.

More information could be released as early as Tuesday.
