Couple Charged In Bogus Realty Deal

TUPELO, MS (WCBI) -The former owners of a now closed Saltillo restaurant are accused of cooking up a little more than cajun food.

44 year old Jesse and Lisa Alexander are both charged with false pretense for selling a house in the Garden Park subdivision for more than 600 thousand dollars. The Alexanders were only renting the house and had no right to sell it. The pair allegedly drew up a false contract, took the buyer’s money and fled . Sheriff Jim Johnson says his office is looking into other instances where the couple may have swindle people out of cars or cash but so far they are only charged in the house scam. The pair opened a restaurant called 504 in Saltillo but shut it down without explanation earlier this month. Both are being held without bond
