Demolition Begins On Old Webster County Courthouse

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Demolition begins on the old Webster County Courthouse in Walthall.

Crews are tearing down the shell of the building that burned in January 2013.

They have 90 days to complete the work.

Some streets around the site will be blocked off until the demolition is complete.

The county bought five acres on the west side of Highway nine, near Highway 50 to build the new courthouse.

Final plans for the new building are not complete.
