Hit and Run Near Downtown Columbus

Columbus, Miss. (WCBI) — Columbus Police are investigating after a young man was hit by a car around 7 P.M. Saturday.

The incident occurred on Avenue B.

Police say the car responsible is a green Buick with front damage and possible damage to the windshield.

One witness was with the victim at the scene and described what happened.

“We was riding our bikes then a green Buick came out in front of him and mashed his breaks and boom, he flew like that, the car hit him, and the car just took off and just left him there”, says Romeo Meady.
