LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Lee County authorities say an argument between neighbors led to a Sunday evening shooting.

One man is under arrest, the other is still in the hospital. 41 year old Scott May is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

His bond is set at $75,000. He was ordered not to have any contact with the victim.

According to Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson says deputies were called to a house on County Road 683 to find one man shot in the shoulder.  Deputies arrested May at the scene.

” They were neighbors, knew each other, we believe there was some underlying fact there, that caused the disturbance but now our main concern was the safety of the victim and getting in possession of that weapon and making sure the victim was okay,” said Johnson.

May’s criminal record includes three DUI arrests.
